Recent Holiday Down South!
For our first day, we rode down on the Interislander to Picton, then headed south where we stayed at Geraldine for a night. Next we headed to Te Anau where we went on the Real Journeys Glow worm trip. The day after, we drove all the way to Milford Sound on the West Coast and did the Real Journeys Nature Cruise – Both trips were totally awesome!! 😀 For the next few days, we explored around Te Anau and Manapouri – all around the lakes!
After that, we went to Queenstown for a couple of nights… we love Queenstown because its gold country!!! And because it is really beautiful and there is lots of stuff to do! 😀 So, we went gold panning up the Arrow River for two days in -8 degrees temperature! But in saying that, it wasn’t actually cold – even thought it was -8, we were warm as! But the water in our gold pans started freezing up this certain part of the river so we had to move to a different location!! Also while we were gold panning, we had a couple of visits from Nomad Safaries! We love nomad safaris, they take you off roading in three different locations depending on which one you choose. Each is about three and a half to four hours long and on two of the trips… You get to go gold panning!! We went on one of their trips last time we came down, it was so much fun!! Mum took some photos of them passing us along the river but we haven’t uploaded them yet! 😦
And on the last night, we stayed in Cheviot before heading back up the rest of the South Island back to Picton. The scenery in the south island is stunning and mum and I took lots of photos for you guys. Remember, Click on any of the images to view it larger! 😉
PS. – WE HAVEN’T GONE THROUGH MUMS PHOTOS YET SO WE WILL ADD ANOTHER POST WITH HER PHOTOS SOON!!!
You can also view our Road Trip Down The South Island page for one of our previous trips all around the south island 😀
Hope you enjoy!
